A shared mission, a joint future: Masters of Bamboo joins Wesemael Group
Hulst & Beverwijk, Netherlands – The Wesemael Group, a family-owned company that has been a leading force in the agricultural and horticultural sectors for over 60 years, and Masters of Bamboo, based in Beverwijk and founded by bamboo pioneers Pim van der Eng and Sandra Bonne, proudly announce a strategic acquisition.

A strong foundation in agriculture and horticulture

Founded in 1960, the Wesemael Group has grown into a key partner for agricultural entrepreneurs. With expertise in arable farming, tree nursery, fruit cultivation, and greenhouse horticulture, the company delivers customized, innovative solutions to its clients. The group comprises over 14 companies and operates in 60 countries across 6 continents.

"The diverse companies within the Wesemael Group complement each other with their unique expertise," says Boudewijn van Wesemael, CEO of the Wesemael Group. "Masters of Bamboo aligns perfectly with our strategy and represents a valuable addition to further expand our activities. With the inclusion of Masters of Bamboo in our group – which already includes Bamboestokken.com - we combine our strengths and expertise to serve the market more effectively and customer-focused."

Masters of Bamboo: A new step in sustainable business

Pim van der Eng and Sandra Bonne have been pioneers in the bamboo industry for over two decades. With their previous venture, Bamboe Bouw Nederland, Bamboo Import Europe, which they successfully sold in 2021, they grew into the market leader in sustainable bamboo products in Europe. Their new initiative, Masters of Bamboo BV, focuses on designing, promoting, and supplying high-quality bamboo products for both B2B and B2C markets.

"Bamboo is a powerful, sustainable alternative that perfectly meets the needs of today’s market," says Pim van der Eng. "Together with the Wesemael Group, we see opportunities to combine products with innovative bamboo solutions. With their global network and expertise, we can make great strides together."

Sandra Bonne adds: "The collaboration with the Wesemael Group also enhances our ability to import bamboo more efficiently, thanks to their in-house factory. This allows us to further improve the quality and availability of our products."

Sustainability, innovation and customer focus as core values

The partnership between the Wesemael Group and Masters of Bamboo highlights a shared ambition: to create a future where sustainability and innovation go hand in hand. By combining the unique strengths of both companies – such as the broad product range and international presence of the Wesemael Group with the creativity and sustainable focus of Masters of Bamboo – a solid foundation is built to accelerate growth and impact.
